Health Care in the Kanungu District of Western Uganda is almost non-existent. This heavily populated and poverty stricken region is in dire need of a medical facility that can serve regional residents along with the Batwa people that are openly discriminated against and denied medical care. A hospital at the Land of Living Hope will provide regional residents and the Batwa people medical care that is desperately needed.

Reaching the Many

This hospital will help our Seeds of Hope orphans and other vulnerable children. It will also help other native villagers along with Batwa families since the district is engulfed in extreme poverty. The hospital will help regional residents access quality health care. It can also assist the children’s village in making steps toward being self-sustaining by reducing the cost of medical services and transportation.

The hospital will play a big role in reaching out to the regional population and the Batwa people when considering health education. This would include HIV and AIDS sensitization that has left many Kanungu children as orphans. Family planning services could also be provided.

Medical Teams

A hospital/medical facility at the Land of Living Hope will provide a base location for future medical teams to work from. It will also provide a sanitary environment for patients found in the bush that may need more medical care. Medical teams can consistently come throughout the year and make a larger impact while treating patients and training local staff. Since there are no other hospitals in this area, the hospital at the Land of Living Hope will help to extend health services to the community.
