Born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina, Rachel Weiland now lives with her husband Brandon and Goldendoodle, Scout. While attending Appalachian State University, Rachel found her love for the Kenyan people. While in school, she spent a total of 6 weeks in Kenya serving the people of Kijabe and Kisumu. Their mission while in Kenya was to build new homes for widows, serve orphans and children, and share the love of Jesus.
After graduating Appalachian State University and starting a career as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones here in Hickory, Rachel desired to continue to serve the African people and was fortunate enough to find Hope Ministries Uganda. As a board member of Hope Ministries Uganda, she hopes to spread the love of Jesus to the people of Uganda and the Batwa Tribe.
